Burkina Faso has a significant livestock sector, yet the cattle value chain is poorly structured and there is limited added value created locally. The Ranch du Tuy project is a greenfield investment in a cattle feedlot and a slaughterhouse. The overall investment is $ 3 million, with ECODEV providing an investment of $ 1 million. The goal is to produce 750 tons of meat per year for regional markets. Ranch du Tuy will play a key role in strengthening the local cattle sector. It will provide a commercial outlet for more than 1,500 breeders and will benefit local producers of corn and fodder. The project will create 67 direct jobs.
